XWiki is committed to pursuing an Open Source strategy in our entire product line. For us, it's all about freedom:

• The freedom for our customers to take advantage of XWiki's advanced features. We can customize and extend your XWiki instance to adapt it to your company's evolving needs.
• The freedom for our customers and partners to build on top of the XWiki platform to develop and ship value-added products and solutions - whether they choose to adopt an Open Source strategy themselves or not.
• The freedom for the XWiki Developer Community to conduct the most advanced research in the world on enterprise wiki technology, with the help of partners such as OW2, Google, the French National Research Agency and the European Union.
• The freedom to be part of an open software development process with a public road map where decisions are taken by a college of committers elected on the basis of merit.

Actually, the only freedom we are not looking for is the freedom to let down our community, users and clients by changing our mind since the LGPL license that governs the distribution of XWiki source code commits us to an Open Source strategy for our solutions.
